Tanglevine Crossing is a most unusual gift shop.
From the moment you enter you are TREATED

hosts (and owners) Larry Francer and Jerome Herron. These creative fellows
(both actors in a previous life) have created a warm, friendly, beautiful
space where PERSONAL SERVICE IS BACK IN STYLE.
From the offer of cappuccino or flavored iced tea (Ashby’s of
London, no less) to the promise not to hover, your shopping will truly be
an experience at Tanglevine Crossing. International lines such
as the unique fragrance systems developed in France by Lampe Berger,
gorgeous candles by Point A LaLigne of Paris and London’s Pimpernel
placemats, coasters and worktop savers intermingle with Glass Eye art
glass from Seattle and Farmland’s own Tanglevine grapevine
baskets and sculpture (which have been displayed worldwide as well as in the
home of Diana Ross).
You can get Godiva chocolates in most any department store but Farmland
Chocolates are only available at Tanglevine Crossing in
Farmland, Indiana. Jerome hand dips his carmadillos (think turtle in the
heartland) and almond toffee, and personally creates his line of
OLD-FASHIONED CANDIES like divinity,
caramels, cinnamon log and cinnamon, chocolate and lemon truffles (with a
little help from Meme, his mom, in rolling the fondant-like truffles). His
hand-pulled (on an old-fashioned iron hook in the front window) cream-based
taffy, French Chewing, is a winter culinary delight! Numerous other lines
fill out the 7-room shop set in the old railroad hotel, Hotel Retter,
including Crabtree and Evelyn bath and body products, Rothschild
Berry Farm salsas, dips and sauces (from nearby Urbana, OH), Robert
Held art glass, Goody Goody’s comfy, funky slippers, Nordic Ware
bundt and other specialty bakeware, Oprah-recommended Votivo’s
exclusive scented candle line (Red Currant is to die for), Zyliss fine
kitchen gadgets, Kennebunk wrap-yourself-up-so-soft afghans and
Willow Tree inspirational angels and figures.
