Thanks to all of you who were able to
attend the Historic Farmland board meeting Thursday
evening. Your participation is the only way we all can
improve Farmland. I went to the road construction
meeting Friday morning. They are going to close the road
Monday the 28th for fifteen days to finish the
construction on sidewalks, sod and paving. They will be
sweeping at the conclusion of the pavement work and they
offered to help sweep the downtown area as part of our
planned clean up project. Who would like to take charge
of this effort and coordinate with the town, the
construction people and all of us volunteers to get this
done before the Lion's club rummage sale? I also
attended the Promotion and Information Exchange (P.I.E.)
Breakfast Friday morning. I passed out the Farmland
coupons, the Mother's Day Brunch and Folk Song Cabaret
flyers to those in attendance. This breakfast is the
third Friday of each month and is a way to promote any
event, sale or activity throughout the county. I plan to
attend this breakfast and encourage any to do so, they
are at the D&J restaurant in Winchester at 7:15 am. If
you cannot go and want me to take your information I
will be happy to do so. Union City & Winchester have
city wide garage/rummage sales each spring and the idea
was raised at the P.I.E breakfast about coordinating
those events on the same weekend next year. This could
be a great opportunity to partner with these communities
to make a county wide event special. Any and all
suggestions and comments will be helpful!
Thanks, Gary Moore
